Sunday, November 13

Day One

Arrive in Nairobi, Kenya, and check into Ngong Hills Hotel. Travel from the airport to the hotel is a 20-minute journey.

Monday, November 14

Day Two

On this day, we will visit a tv studio where select individuals will be interviewed. Later on, we will visit an elephant and giraffe orphanage.

Day Three

On this day, there is a photo shoot opportunity and speaking at the University of Nairobi to their business class. There will also be a chance to meet with the Dean of the University.

Day Four

In the morning, we will travel by flight to Kisumu, followed by a drive to Kisii, where we will check into Kamel Park. The flight will be 45 minutes, and the drive will be 2 hours.

On this day, we will also speak at and Kisii University to two different departments.

Day Five

On this day, we will speak at Kisii National Polytechnic and have a chance to meet the Govenor.

This day we will focus on a service project.

Day Seven

We will travel by vehicle from Kisii to Masai Mara, where we will stay at Siana Springs Tented Camp. This will be a 4-hour drive.

There will be a bonfire dinner.

Do a full-day game or service project

Day Nine

We will catch a flight from the Masai Mara back to Nairobi so everyone can arrive at the airport to catch their flights back home. This will be a 45-minute flight.

Vaccination Requirements

Recommended Vaccinations for Travel to Kenya

  • Hepatitis A
  • Malaria (pill form)
  • Meningitis
  • Rabies*
  • Typhoid
  • Yellow Fever

*Rabies vaccination is typically only recommended for very high-risk travelers, given that it is completely preventable if medical attention is received within 7-10 days of an animal bite.

Some adults may need to receive a booster for some of these diseases:

  • Measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR)
  • Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis)
  • Chickenpox
  • Polio
  • Influenza
Older adults or those with certain medical conditions may also want to ask about being vaccinated for shingles and/or pneumonia.

Make your arrangements to fly out on March 18. There may be 1-2 connecting flights, so coming out earlier will ensure you’re there when we begin on March 20.
